-Nikki Scott - out with broken shoulder -Preparation by Maria Franke & Morane De Barquin The new MX season start this weekend in Mantova, Italy. For the MX-girls it will be normally the 14th Februari. The ladies are in full preparation modus. Morane De Barquin went to Spain to prepare in excenllent weather conditions. At this moment Maria Franke is in Italy to ride her new DIGA-KTM. She already spend some time on the orange horse and she feels good on it. Also the new team memner Nikki Scott was in full preparing. She went a lot to the deep sand of Lommel to get stronger. She did work out som good condition tests. Her goal to reach to top 7 was in focus. But on the 24th of Januari she made a terrible crash in the deep sand of Lommel. She did get injured on her Shoulder and knee. When she passed doctor Toon Claes in Herentals the injury didnʼt look that good. A broken shoulder and a fracture under the knee. This would give a stop to her good preparation. This Friday she will have a little operation to see the knee damage. We all hope the results will not to bad. One thing is for sure; she will be of the bike for at least a few weeks. Reaction Nikki Scott: “January has so many good times and bad, riding was going very well , and i started some heavy training on my physical condition. I have made some big improvements in my sand technique , still not perfect , but getting alot better. Unfortunately i had a bad crash at lommel on the 24 January, i broke my shoulder , fractured my tibia plateau and damaged two ligaments in my knee , i have a operation on friday morning . I am now focusing on recovering , and maintaining as much condition as possible. I am still very positive for this year, i have a good feeling ! :-) I will keep everyone informed on my progress ! ” Reaction Morane De Barquin: “ I am so happy to ride the bike again. I have been riding a lot in Spain. It felt so good! I feel really comfortable and I learned a lot. I am looking forward to bring my first GP-points back home...I” We keep you updated....
